Effect of pressure on the fluorescence of poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexoxy)-p-phenylenevinylene
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to measure the effects of pressure on the fluorescence of poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexoxy)-p-phenylenevinylene (MEH-PPV) and at various mixtures with polystyrene (PS) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). Results revealed distinct differences in emission properties that can be explained by three factors. These are the decrease of interchain electron transfer in the mixtures, differences in conformation of MEH-PPV in PS and PMMA and the possibility of Foster energy transfer.

One- and two-photon-pumped fluorescence from Rhodamine B in solid poly(acrylic acid) under high pressure
Article Abstract:
The effect of one- and two-photon-excited fluorescence of Rhodamine B in solid poly(acrylic acid) was investigated at three different excitation energies. The two-photon absorption was found to be stronger to higher energetic states than the first excited state. The energy, lifetime and fluorescence intensity for both one- and two-photon excitation was found to decrease with increasing pressure.

Fluorescence of poly(2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexoxy)-p-phenylene vinylene). Effect of pressure in a variety of solid polymeric media
Article Abstract:
Research is presented describing the measurement of dilute blends of MEH-PPV in seven polymers for high-pressure luminescence. Pressure is shown to vary both the intensity and the shape of the emission spectra.
